New Delhi: The Indian Army has launched the Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025, a first-of-its-kind national-level cyber challenge aimed at addressing emerging threats in defence and cybersecurity.

Organized by the Territorial Army in collaboration with IIT Madras, Indian Army Research Cell (IARC), and CyberPeace, the initiative seeks to bring together India’s brightest minds to create innovative solutions in critical technology domains, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Quantum Computing, and Drone Technology.

Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025: Building India’s Digital Defence

The Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025 has been positioned as a flagship event under the Decade of Transformation, underscoring the growing importance of digital defence readiness.

The competition provides participants with an opportunity to directly contribute to national security by solving real-world challenges in predictive threat intelligence, anomaly detection, quantum-enhanced malware identification, and drone anomaly detection.

The contest features two major tracks:

  • Track One: Bug Hunting Challenge – A 36-hour live cybersecurity hackathon on the BOSS Linux system, where finalists will uncover OS-level vulnerabilities in a simulated Indian Army environment.
  • Track Two: Datathon – A data-centric challenge focusing on predictive threat intelligence and anomaly detection, testing participants’ ability to design robust AI and ML-powered defence solutions.

Event Schedule and Key Highlights

  • Registration: July 23 – September 7, 2025
  • Preliminary Round: September 8 – 17, 2025
  • Grand Finale: September 24 – 26, 2025
  • Award Ceremony: October 7, 2025

During the Grand Finale, Bug Hunting finalists will engage in a high-intensity attack–defence simulation, while Datathon finalists will build a deepfake detection system within 36 hours, using AI and ML to counter advanced cyber threats.

Recognition and Awards

Winners of the Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025 will be felicitated by Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, in New Delhi. They will also receive awards and recognition for their innovative contributions toward strengthening national cybersecurity and defence technology infrastructure.
